On 1.1.11 at 1:11pm, Adair and Aaron became one. It has a nice ring to it that's for sure! And, as Adair's father mentioned in his toast, Adair has given Aaron the gift of having the easiest anniversary to remember, New Year's Day. Things got started with a wonderful rehearsal in at the DeHaven Baptist Church in LaGrange, Kentucky. One thing I noticed on my way to the church was the train tracks running right through town that you had to inevitably drive down to get anywhere. We're not just talking crossing over the tracks, we're talking riding along the tracks in a somewhat similar manner as the trains....
The weekend before Christmas, it turns out, is a fine weekend for a wedding. I shot Sarah and Travis' wedding a little over a week ago up in Frankfort, IN. I hadn't met Sarah or Travis prior to the rehearsal and five minutes in and we were all getting along great. We had a lot of laughs over the course of their wedding weekend. I think this could have been at the root of the many firsts I had over the weekend. Including, blind folding my bride and groom and shooting with the bridal party in freezing temperatures and snow on the ground. What a blast! Thanks guys for making it such a good weekend....
I couple of Saturday's ago I made the trip down to Louisville, KY for Jeff and Amy's wedding. It's always fun doing weddings with people you have gotten to know over the years. I went to high school with Jeff and graduated with his sister Jennifer. A few other faces from my high school days also showed up. Plus, I have gotten to know Amy pretty well since she started planning her wedding back in February. It is crazy how fast time flies. Anywho, we couldn't have asked for a better day. It was extremely nice out, the temperature was ideal and we were able to get some sweet shots outside. The location...
A few weekends ago I had the privilege of shooting a very special engagement session. This is because the bride-to-be and I have been friends since the second grade. For those of you who are counting... that's something like 16 years. Needless to say, we had a great time. Mindy and Jon decided to do some photos at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. We also wanted to grab some shots in the arts district in Carmel, however we were struggling to find a location we really felt popped. Then, after giving up and heading back to change before going to the IMA, I saw a spot that I recognized from a walk I had taken...
A week ago today, I had a wonderful shoot with Bitsy and Kevin in the greater Lafayette area. We had a blast! Things started off with a walk around campus. We hit a few traditional campus spots without being too "Purdue." We even made a pit stop at the moon. The photo didn't make the blog, but if you make a journey up to Purdue in the next few weeks I'm sure you'll see it. Next, we took a trip to Columbia Park where we mingled with tons of kids who were taking advantage of the nice fall weather. After getting a few shots at Columbia Park we wondered downtown a bit more and found a few other locations....
This past week I was working diligently to prepare for an interview on Friday. This was the third and final interview so I was spending nearly every free second working on this presentation. I was able to take a break from the project and head out to the IMA and the Canal for some fall portraits with Nichole and Josh. I have known Nichole for a few years due to my ritual Friday lunch visits to Harry's where Nichole works. Is it a good thing or a bad thing when you can go somewhere and not have to order food/drinks... they just know? Anyhow, Nichole had approached me about taking some pictures of her and Josh...
Last weekend I had the privilege of capturing Jim and Jennifer's wedding that was held in West Lafayette, IN at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament. The day was fantastic! Things went smoothly, the weather cooperated (after some scares of a rainy forecast), and everyone had a blast.
I started off things by meeting Jennifer and her Bridesmaids out at Element Salon in West Lafayette. The ladies were looking good and the kids were evening having a good time!
Yesterday I made the drive up to good 'ol Valpo, Indiana for Stacy and Chris' Engagement session. When I got home last night while I was backing up the photos I went ahead and picked out a few of my favorites. I thought I would go ahead and share them with you.
First off, what a great day for pictures! Minus the fact that it was a little warm for October, and they were planning on having some Fall photos. Ditch the sweaters, and never mind the scarf... it was hot! So, in nice form we made due with what we had and went to the beach. Well, it wasn't our first stop of the day. And thank goodness...
Greetings everyone! I hope you enjoyed looking through my last post from Lanneah and Brian's Wedding. This past weekend I traveled to Fishers, IN to shoot Tamra and Cody Marks' wedding. It was a lot of fun and brought back a ton of memories from my cousin's wedding that was held at the same church a little over two years ago. I must confess that I was very inspired by the photographers who shot my cousin's wedding Cybil and Brandon Photography. They made the photos fun and we created a lot of fun memories that were captured by their cameras (albeit Canon's). I hope that I am able to provide the same...
Greetings all. First thing's first... I realize it has been a long while since I have uploaded a new post to the blog. I have found facebook to be a more efficient way of sharing content. Nonetheless, I would like to work on bringing the blog back to life! Now onto the wedding. A week ago I had the privilege of getting to know Lanneah and Brian along with their family and friends all while capturing their big day. The wedding took place at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Crown Point, IN. I would like to thank Dawn for her wonderful help as wedding coordinator. The weather was amazing and I couldn't...
